Mining and the Common Good: Mineral Resource Development and Laudato Si

The purpose of this symposium is to foster a respectful and ongoing dialogue among all concerned stakeholders and to better understand the problems mining companies face while at the same time ensuring that mining operations take full account of the common good.

Guest speaker Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB, will set the context of the symposium through his address on the encyclical Laudato Si’.

This symposium will feature presentations from expert panels including concerned climate scientists and representatives from First Nations, mining companies, NGOs and shareholders.

 

Registration:  Event is Free. Registration required.

NOTE: Coffee/tea will be provided. Please bring your own “bagged lunch.”
