BC, Climate Change, and the Gospel

January 28, 2017 @ 1:45 pm - 3:00 pm
  • This event has passed.

Climate change is considered one of the single biggest threats facing humanity. Join us as we examine this crisis through a scriptural lens and explore practical ways in which Christians can respond.

Date: Saturday, January 28 at Missions Fest
Time: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Place: Vancouver Convention Centre, Room 19

Here are questions we’ll be addressing:
– Is climate change real, and if so, how serious is it?
– Why should followers of Jesus care about climate change?
– How does scripture inform our understanding of climate change and justice?
– What are some of the ways Christians can respond to climate change?

Please invite your friends, bring any questions you may have, and be prepared to engage in lively dialogue with other Christians about climate change!

Gary Hewitt (PhD, Yale) has worked for the federal Competition Bureau and the OECD. He has also been an instructor at UBC and two other Canadian universities, teaching courses on government and business. Gary is convinced that human-caused climate change is a gospel issue that requires an immediate and thoughtful response.
