Matt interviews Tom Blue Wolf, the founder of Earthkeepers - a non-profit that promotes honoring tradition, preserving the earth, and fostering global peace.

Earthkeepers and Company’s mission is to empower individuals to take daily environmental action through education on sustainable lifestyle choices and reconnection to the natural world, in order to promote a healthy relationship between humanity and the planet.

On this episode we talk with Tom Blue Wolf, an Elder of the Star Clan of the Eufaula Band of the Anicoosa Tribe among the Muscogee Nation.

He is the Founder and Director of Earth Keepers & Company, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating people of all ages on the importance of relationship with the earth and each other. He is a charter member of the World Council of Elders, The Indigenous Healers Association and travels the world teaching workshops, conducting ceremonies, and inspiring hearts with the message of peace and harmony.

He is called a spiritual ecology artist and has been on this walk since childhood. He is a spokesperson for mother earth.

We explore the simplicity of ancient wisdom, being beneficial to the environment, the illusion of separation, the importance of education through ceremonies, rituals and learning about herbal medicine, developing agreements with others, taking care of the waters, how to be in balance, having conversations about the direction we can go, an attitude of gratitude.

Tom talks about his journey, shares stories of reconnection and truth, looking for beauty, kindness over being right, not getting enamored by the coyote and trickster's stories, loving the earth and each other, how much we actually experience, ceremony as a way of life.

Tom Bluewolf joins the show to talk about the lessons of peace, equanimity and divine purpose taught by his Muscogee Native American tradition. Show Notes Walking Eachother Home (Opening) – Tom Bluewolf reflects on the common humanity we all share, an important reminder in our divisive culture. He speaks about the important role of ritual in bringing people together and shares the rights of passage he went through as a young man.

Natural Equanimity (16:30) – We get a better context for the adversity that Native Americans have continued to face in recent times and the inherent quality of peace and equanimity that adversity has been met with.

“I was born in the late 1940’s and there was a lot of segregation in Alabama then. There was a white bathroom and black bathroom; a white water fountain and a black water fountain; and black people had to sit on the back of the bus. But native people had no bathroom, no water fountain and couldn’t even get on the bus. So, we were somehow ostracized in a way that came accepted.”- Tom Bluewolf

Making Room For the Divine (24:00) – Tom talks about finding the courage to give away that which is sacred to us in order to make room for what the creator has next for us. He and Raghu talk about the inner change we can make in order to better effect greater change in the world.

“Right now, it seems like the diseases we are suffering from are greed, fear and control. Once you get close to them, you get part of that feeling and it takes you away from this symbiotic relationship with the Mother. It puts you into another place that makes you feel like you are apart from nature, not a part of nature.”- Tom Bluewolf
